"Since World Community Grid's launch in November 2004, more than 1 million devices have been registered. Since the launch of Team Bravo in April 2007, we have grown to a total of 57 members. The computer power that our volunteer community has donated equals one PC running nonstop for almost 23 years. Team members are returning on average 73.65 results per calender day and in about a week will have reached a very grand total of 10 million points. Thanks all!

With our tremendous members, there are often huge milestones to cheer. Yesterday saw the team captain, tgeorge, storm through 2,000,000 points for example and by the end of today justin-thyme will have joined the
one million points club!

Join, join, join, join, join, join, join, join, join, join, join, join, join.....please

To join the other wonderful projects, on May 12th the World Community Grid launched Nutritious Rice for the World.

The objective of this project is to predict the structure of proteins of major strains of rice. The intent is to help farmers breed better rice strains with higher crop yields, promote greater disease and pest resistance, and utilize a full range of bioavailable nutrients that can benefit people around the world, especially in regions where hunger is a critical concern.

A few weeks ago Team Bravo celebrated its 1 year anniversary. On the day that it was created there were approximately 88 thousand fewer members at the WCG than there are today. It has been a good year all round and now, as we hurtle forward, it will not be long before there are over a million devices connected via the grid throughout the world. Join us today and become a part of this global initiative to make a difference by contributing something that we do not use anyway, our computer's idle time, and help us help those with the know-how to find solutions and cures to problems and diseases that could and do affect us all.

Though a relatively small team, Bravo has in its year of existence returned over 30,000 results and as has been reiterated here many times and not too often, each of those results had/has the potential to provide crucial information and for every one crossed off the list, we are one step closer to the right ones. In short, if not for all of our wonderful team mates, who took the time to join us at the WCG and at Bravo, there would be 30,000+ particular steps still to be taken. In joining, you have made a difference and will continue to do so. For those reading this who have not yet joined, I can tell you that it takes less than 5 minutes to do so and that nothing further will be required of you. Your donation is those 5 minutes of your time and as for the rest, it will work automatically once you have signed up and downloaded the agent, which in turn will work for the grid whenever you aren't using your computer and will not encumber your use in any way. One can easily forget that one is a member, but should you choose to be reminded, one can click on the agent's icon which sits in the clock panel and follow its progress or come visit us at The House of Bravo, our team forum, where there is always coffee on the stove and welcoming faces.
