Easy peesy lemon squeezy

Each day we make choices, hundreds of them, little ones, large ones. They all have repercussions of some sort, known, unknown, immediate, delayed. Here is the opportunity not only to make a good decision, but to see the repercussions immediately, to follow their progress, to have it confirmed time and again that this decision was a good decision and that the good will be far-reaching. The decision I speak of is whether or not to join the World Community Grid. It is an easy decision to make, if given the time it takes to make it. It is a way of helping humankind rid itself of disease and issues that are affecting us, the people around us near and far and the planet that we live upon.

All that is required to start helping today is a computer and an internet connection. Joining takes just a few minutes and after that your computer takes care of the rest, using it's spare CPUs to work on the data that it downloads and sending the results back to the main server once it has completed the task. Every time you step away from your computer and it is idle, it will start or continue working on it's current task. It does not interfere with your use of your machine in the slightest and is 100% safe to use. To read more, please visit the World Community Grid website. The hard part of the decision is deciding to click that link for once there, once one knows what the grid is and what it does, the rest follows. Please take the link. See what it is all about. See just how simple a thing it is to do, how easy a decision it is to make and what wonderful repercussions there might be. Once joined, join us too, be a part of our team.

Team Bravo's progress of late has been too wonderful not to make a note of the stats as they stand on this day, January 26th 2008. With our four new members, the scoreboard is lighting up light never before, members climbing over each other in their efforts to return as many results as possible. Few things more lovely to see as a group of people working together to do some good. Statistically as a team we rank for points generated at #679. Pretty good going for so young a group!

Special mentions this post must go to...
justin-thyme, who is just days short of bursting through the 500,000 points milestone
Karen6977 who now has over 1 year of runtime
ariadneK aka Kiley who has over 600,000 points
SaintlyNate who is about to hit 200,000 points
CJG, one of our newest members, who will hit 50,000 within the next couple of hours
tiffair aka Tiffany, another new member, who has already accumulated 10,000 points
Everyone else for all their amazing contributions!!!

We've got visitors dear. Pull out the welcome mat for our base campers. I'll get the tea brewing.

Dataman and TLD, welcome to Bravo. Stay as long as you like. :-)

How lovely!

Welcome mat coming up tonight, soon as I have finished dusting it. ;-)

Dataman and TLD, such a great thrill and an absolute pleasure to have you with us. :-)

Thanks! There should be a few more showing up mid week or so. They're in a big challenge going on at POEM. I'm "small potatoes" to most of them :)

Thanks for putting up with us.

Dataman, I see cswchan has joined. I need to go see where Autumn has run off to--perhaps she has heeded your advice. Looks like I'll be bringing the chips and beer myself. :-D

Got caught up in a bout of happy dancing. ;-) Hand me a beer, captain, all that dancing has made me thirsty!
Morning all.

Beer? Did someone say "Beer"? I love those double "e" words. Like free and beer ... and especially "free beer" :-)

More points on the way.
