These loving, kind and gentle faces belong to Deena and her husband, Rich.

Crunchers and most bloggers are of a somewhat similar mould. Shared characteristics mainly a willingness, a desire, to gather and to impact, to make a difference. Each day our team members donate their spare CPUs through the freeware provided by the World Community Grid, each day I see them communicate and offer support and encouragement and work together in hope of finding a cure for various illnesses. Each day too, bloggers from across the globe, initial strangers who often times may never meet, connecting with one another, displaying genuine love and caring, through dry spells and prolificity, through the good times and the tough. Deena is a fellow blogger, with a blog that more readily than most emits a strong presence, an essence of heart and soul. Crunchers know that it all counts, that together we are stronger, that by breaking a huge task up into smaller parts, we can each do our bit and as a whole move mountains. Likewise bloggers who have been here for any length of time have come to realize why this is a magical place and just how one person is able to touch the heart of another. It is the best of us.

Deena has been diagnosed with breast cancer and begins chemo tomorrow (Friday 8th)
